Thailand: Novotel Bangkok Fenix Silom

There are quite a few Novotel Hotels around Bangkok so try not to be confused with each other and be sure to book the correct hotel located on your prefered location.

*Locating the Hotel
The hotel can be access by skytrain (BTS) Silom Line. We alighted at Surasak Station and walked towards the hotel via Mahesak Road. During Songkran Festival, a lot of water “fights” happened along Silom Road near Sala Daeng Station, so you can also alight/take the train from here and walk dowards the hotel.

The room size is big enough (as compared to a standard Japanese hotel rooms). Free bottled water, coffee/tea is avalilable. Wifi connection is better than expected. Beddings is not bad either.

*Toilet and Bath
Toilet & Bath size is good too, water pressure and heater was never a problem.

Novotel - Toilet.02

After taking a shower on our first night, the whole bathroom was flooded that lasts until the morning. When we went out on our second day, we saw the room cleaners on the hallway and asked for our rooms to be cleaned but forgot to tell them about the flooded bathroom. When we arrived back in the afternoon, the flood is gone and I think they fixed the drainage, though it still gets flooded after we take our shower but it did not last until the next day. I give them credit for fixing this without us telling them.

I enjoyed their breakfast buffet, the usual western and local cuisines plus they top up the serving tables attentively.

*Other than the flooded bathroom, I think I’ll give this hotel an above than average passing grade, it is accessible by public trasportation and have a very attentive staff (from the front desk to room cleaners). I think I will stay here again for next year’s songkran 😉
